The Reve Chrome extension lets you save images from anywhere on the web directly into your Reve account - as references, color palettes, templates, or album additions — without leaving the page you're browsing.
Requirements
- Google Chrome (or a Chromium-based browser that supports Chrome Web Store extensions)
- A Reve account at app.reve.com
Installing the extension
- Open the Reve extension page on the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome, then confirm by selecting Add extension in the dialog.
- Once installed, sign in to your Reve account if prompted. The extension requires an active account on app.reve.com to sync your saves.
Tip: Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin Reve so it's always within reach.
Saving an image from the web
Hover over any image on a webpage. The Reve icon will appear in the top-left corner of the image. Click it and choose how you'd like to keep the image:
- As a reference - Add the image to your inspirations to draw on its lighting, composition, style, or form in future work.
- As a palette - Pull the colors from the image (great for capturing brand colors) and carry them into your creations.
- Into an album - Gather imagery quickly into an active workspace, ideal for collecting your team's work in one place.
- As a template - Turn any image into a template and generate new variations from it.
Finding your saved work
Open app.reve.com and your saved references, palettes, and albums will be there — everything syncs live into your existing projects, so there's no import or refresh step needed.
Troubleshooting
The Reve icon doesn't appear when I hover over an image. Confirm the extension is installed and enabled at chrome://extensions, then refresh the page. Some sites block overlays on images; try another site to verify the extension is working.
My saves aren't showing up in Reve. Make sure you're signed in to the same Reve account in both the extension and app.reve.com. Signing out and back in usually resolves sync issues.
The extension was working but stopped after an update. Check chrome://extensions for the current version (latest is 1.0.14) and toggle the extension off and on.
Or
Type chrome://restart in the address bar and press Enter - Chrome relaunches with your tabs restored and updates the Reve extension to the latest version
Note: unsaved text in open pages won't be preserved.
Privacy
The extension only handles website content needed for its core functionality. Your data is not sold to third parties or used for unrelated purposes. See the full privacy policy for details.
